Whether it’s to relieve the stress of care giving or to alleviate chronic pain due to injury or illness, we offer massage therapy to relax and rejuvenate!
Benefits of massage therapy include:
Swedish massage is based on the western concepts of anatomy and physiology. It is the systematic manual manipulations of the soft tissues of the body. It employs traditional manipulative movements such as rubbing, kneading, pressing, rolling, and tapping for therapeutic purposes.
Chinese acupressure stems from traditional Chinese medicine. It used the hand and fingers to stimulate specific pints on the body to relieve pain and discomfort, restore proper metabolic function, and balance and calm the nervous system.
Trigger point massage focuses on the location of certain points that follow patterns of referred pain in the body. When direct pressure is applied and held on these points, pain is relieved.
Trager work massage focuses on restricted patterns of movement. With the application of gentle rocking and vibration to encourage more fluid movements, pain is reduced, range of motion is improved, and balance is restored.
Mary Jean has 30 years of experience as a licensed massage therapist. She works with clients to design individual treatment plans for recovery from stress, pain, injuries and surgeries to increase their health and wellbeing.
